Privacy Policy

StackShot is built to help you clean and organize your photo library while keeping your photos private. This policy explains what the app processes, what limited information may be received by our service providers, and the choices available to you.

1. Overview

StackShot processes your photo and video library primarily on your device. We do not operate a service that uploads your photo library for analysis, advertising, or sale.

The short version: your photos stay on your device, StackShot does not sell personal information, and you remain in control of every cleanup decision.

2. Your photo library

When you grant Photos access, StackShot can inspect the items you authorize so it can identify duplicates, screenshots, large files, similar images, and other cleanup opportunities.

  • Photo and video analysis is performed on your device.
  • Your library contents are not uploaded to StackShot servers for analysis.
  • StackShot may store local indexes, review decisions, detected text, collections, and cleanup progress on your device.
  • Items you delete are handled through Apple’s Photos framework and ordinarily move to the Recently Deleted album, where Apple generally keeps them for 30 days.

Features such as an encrypted private vault may intentionally move selected items out of the Photos library and store them locally inside the app. Items permanently removed from that vault may not be recoverable.

3. Data we may receive

We may receive limited technical and commercial information that does not include the contents of your photo library:

  • Diagnostics: crash reports, device type, operating-system version, app version, and technical error information.
  • Usage events: high-level information about feature use and app performance, where analytics is enabled.
  • Purchase information: subscription status, product identifiers, transaction state, and anonymous entitlement identifiers. Payment details are processed by Apple and are not provided to StackShot.
  • Support information: information you voluntarily provide when requesting help.

4. Service providers

StackShot may use carefully selected providers to operate limited parts of the app and website:

  • Apple for App Store distribution, purchases, device permissions, Photos access, and platform services.
  • Firebase for optional analytics and crash diagnostics.
  • Adapty for subscription paywalls, purchase status, and entitlement management.
  • Vercel for website hosting and privacy-conscious, aggregate website analytics.
  • Google Translate to translate public website text when you select a language. Google may receive technical information such as your IP address under its own privacy terms.

These providers process information under their own privacy terms. StackShot does not authorize them to receive your photo-library contents through our app.

5. Your choices

  • You can change or revoke Photos permission in iOS Settings.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
  • You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app, subject to any content you separately placed in Photos, Recently Deleted, backups, or an encrypted vault.
  • You can limit analytics using the controls Apple makes available on your device.

6. Security and retention

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Local app data remains until you delete it, reset the relevant feature, or remove the app. Diagnostic, analytics, and subscription information may be retained by our providers only as long as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service or meet legal obligations.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and StackShot should not be treated as a substitute for maintaining appropriate device and photo backups.

7. Children

StackShot is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support interaction, please contact us at support@stackshot.app.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as StackShot changes. The effective date at the top will be revised when an update is published. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through the App Store listing.

9. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, email support@stackshot.app. Please do not send private photos, passwords, or other sensitive information unless specifically requested for support.
